Council 8951 Basketball Free Throw

On Wednesday, January 23, 2008 Port Perry Council 8951, of the Knights of Columbus held their annual Basketball Free-Throw Championship at Good Shepherd Catholic School. This free-throw championship has four levels of competition starting at the council level and ending at the provincial level in March.
Over 950 participants from nine elementary schools in the area took part in the school level competitions. Each school sent their best boy and girl in each age group to this area competition. Contestants were allowed 15 free-throw attempts in the contest. Ties were settled by successive rounds of five free throws until a winner emerged.
For the winners of each division (or possibly the runners up, if the winner can't attend) the District competition is being held on Wednesday, February 6th, 2008; 7:00pm at St.Paul's Catholic School, Garrard St. Whitby.

Boys
- Age 10 - D. Joshi
- Age 11 - W. Hick
- Age 12 - C. Elliott
- Age 13 - C. Martin
- Age 14 - P. Sheriff
Girls
- Age 10 - M. Russell
- Age 11 - M. Hannah
- Age 12 - D. Murczek
- Age 13 - K. Churchill
- Age 14 - R. Kiezebrink
The evening concluded with refreshments and the presentation of trophies. A good time was had by both shooters and the knights who hosted the event.
