Hurricane Katrina Relief & Rebuilding
I'm sure everyone has seen images and video of the devistation hurricane Katrina claused in August of 2005. What seems worse was the plight of the people left behind. This has been the motivation behind many charitible organizations, not only in the USA itself but from other countries around the world. The Knight of Columbus, through their supremee council, has donated 10s of millions of dollars in relief and hundreds of thousands in volunteer man hours in cleanup, support services and now rebuilding.
THE KATRINA COUGARS

By August 2008 it will have been three full years since the devastation, known as Hurrican Katrina, struck the States of Louisiana and Mississsipi with the City of New Orleans being hit particularly hard. More than 400,000 persons were displaced by the damage. Only slightly more than 50% have since returned to their homes.
The Notre Dame Cougar Football team and some of its supporters (including Knights of Columbus) wish to make a return visit to the 'city that never sleeps' and once again lend many hands to the reconstructive efforts of the various agencies in that city.
You can help. By participating in the Knights of Columbus/Notre Dame CSS Cash Draw you will be assisting these groups in making the resources available for that return trip. As well, you will be giving your-self an opportunity to be chosen as one of the 26 winners of $1,000! If you purchase early you will also have a chance to win one of the two Early Bird Draws.
Please don't wait. Email for your tickets and forward with your cheque to Notre Dame CSS.
Photos taken during March 2007 excursion by students from Notre Dame CSS and Knights of Columbus to New Orleans, Louisiana. The 68 person group assisted Catholic Charities in their task of 'gutting' homes of persons affected by Hurricane Katrina.

After only four days of work the group had successfully gutted 11 homes in a variety of neighbourhoods in the city. The group also left behind $20,000 to Catholic schools and Churches to assist them in their rebuilding.
